Knowledge Skills
Knowledge skills cost 2 points to buy at a 11- roll. They then cost 1 point to increase the roll by 1. Knowledge skills represent knowledge of a certain subject. They are divided into 3 categories. Knowledge of groups, knowledge of people, knowledge of places, or knowledge of things. Knowledge skills will be very useful when trying to figure out how to overcome your enemies in this campaign.
Groups. This category covers knowledge of organizations or cultures. Like the Illuminati, NATO, Garka demons, or the Minneapolis police department. This gives you thorough knowledge of things like structure, members, duties, customs, taboos, requirements, and protocols.
People. This category covers knowledge of a type of person or even an individual person. For example: sorcerers, necromancers, demons that don't die by decapitation, or Zargon Shollta - warlord of the Piccar demons. This gives you knowledge(generally speaking) of how these people react to certain situtaitons, some history, possiblly weakness or strengths, and so on.
Places. This category covers knowledge of an area. The area can range from an individual street to a planet or dimension. This gives you knowledge of geography, politics, economy, criminal areas, shortcuts, important residents, and so forth. Obviously the smaller the area the more detailed the information.
Things. This category covers anything that didn't fall into the other categories. Things like demon statues, thoroughbred horses, tax evasion, magical artifacts of the Persian empire, and so on.
I can't tell you what knowledges would be great to start off with. Your characters are still beginners in this, so even characters that have a lot of knowledge in the occult will be hit or miss. As you play though you can buy knowledges of things you research and encounter, this will round out what you already know. If you pay the points I will remind you of things and give you hints and details when you run into something similar again. Remember the Skill Enhancer of Scholar can be a great help for decreasing cost of knowledges.
