Dark Champions: Twin Cities
Welcome to the struggle for humanity in the Twin Cities. This site is meant to walk you through the character creation process. From setting information to the mechanics of it. Those of you very familiar with the Hero System will find much of the information unnecessary, while those unfamiliar with Hero will have many questions relating to the basics of Hero. Please ask away.
In order to play we will be using 2 programs. Ventrilo for teleconferencing. Maptools for the graphical interface or "virtual tabletop". Both are free. For Ventrilo go to www.ventrilo.com and download the appropriate client. I will send you the information you need to connect by email. For Maptools go to www.rptools.net and download the version 1.3(ask me which build if it has not reached Release Version yet). Again I will send you the connecting information by email. Use the following spreadsheet for character creation. CHARACTER SHEET. It will keep track of your points and charge you double, like it is supposed to, if you go over the human maximum on any of your characteristics.
One other question you maybe having, if you are new to the Hero System, is what books you will need. I can talk you through the rules, but getting Sidekick would make things go smoother. Sidekick is a little $15 book that is the boiled down version of Hero System's core rules. For this campaign Sidekick is only missing a couple optional rules that I am using and I have listed those rules on this website. The book Dark Champions would also be useful, but more for its equipment lists then anything else. This is a modern day game, so you really know what equipment is available out there and the book would just be a minor perk if you had the extra cash. Two good places to get Hero books are www.herogames.com (they don't charge shipping) and www.frpgames.com (they charge shipping, but give you 20% off).
